Middle Eastern Mezze

Who doesn't love food? of course we all love eating and trying new kinds of foods, especially if we're travelling to a new country and and a new culture, we want to live like the citizens living there, that's why we taste all kinds of their foods.
In my blog i will introduce you to different kind of foods around the world from the most popular to the most weird food, but i will start with Middle Eastern cuisine because that is where I'm from and in my next blogs i will talk about other types of foods and cuisines.
 Today I'm going to talk about different types of Middle Eastern food.
Let's begin with  ; Appetizers are known in the Middle East as "Mezze",
in the Middle East, Mezze is considered as small plates, salads and dips that are served before the main meal, and it is considered like light food to open your appetite, and all Mezze are eaten with bread, because bread in the Middle East is very important and you can eat anything with it.

I'm going to introduce the 10 most popular Mezze in Middle East;

The first popular Mezze is " Fried Eggplant With Tahini and Pomegranate Seeds"

2-  Dolma ( Grape Leaves Stuffed With Rice ) and known as " Waraa Enab "

3-  Tabbouleh : it's a Lebanese dish and its flavor focuses on the fresh herbs and vegetables and it is very popular in the Middle East

4- Baba Ghanouj: it is an eggplant spread with garlic and you eat with bread

5- Man'oushe Bil Zaatar:  This is a dough that is made with thyme, it is mainly eaten at breakfast but also you can eat it as a Mezze

6-  Kebbeh: It is made out of bulgur and beef , and it is considered as a main dish in any meal of the day.

7-  Lahmacun or Lahme b ajin: It is both Turkish and Lebanese food, it is a dough made with minced beef, you can eat it anytime of the day.

8- Persian Potato Pancakes: it is called Kookoo and it is Persian, you can eat it alone or dip it with cucumber yogurt.

9- Labneh Bil Zaatar: This is considered breakfast, it is best eaten with bread and you can eat it anytime because who doesn't love labneh?

10- The last Mezze is Kibbeh Nayye: it is raw Kibbeh or raw beef, it contains different spices and you put on it some olive oil and you eat it with pita bread. it may seem odd to people, like how would they ear raw meat, but it is not dangerous because the meat should be fresh and clean,and believe me  if you try it you won't regret.

Those were the most 10 popular Mezze in Middle East, of course there are much more in different Middle Eastern countries but countries like Turkey, Lebanon and Syria have the same food and the same Mezze so they considered the same, but they differ a little bit in the main dish and desserts, Iraqi, Persia and Jordan may differ a lot and i can make a special post about their food and to introduce what do they eat.
